A Hoosier by choice, Jackie Sheckler Finch moved to Indiana in 1986 – the same year the popular movie Hoosiers hit theaters.

And yes, she does have a basketball hoop in her driveway.

An award-winning newspaper reporter and photographer, Jackie has covered the state from one end to the other, discovering little off-the-beaten-path gems and friendly folks.

She has written tons of articles about Indiana and is now the editor of two Indiana magazines, Adventure Indiana and Homes & Lifestyles of South-Central Indiana.

Named Travel Writer of the Year by Midwest Travel Writers a record four times, Jackie is the author of 10 books, including The Insiders’ Guide to Indianapolis and It Happened in Indiana (both Globe Pequot Press.)

A member of Midwest Travel Writers and the Society of American Travel Writers, Jackie has traveled the world but loves to return home where she can recharge her engine in an ever-changing and always-surprising Indianapolis. Jackie is pleased to be your insider guide as you explore the incomparable Indy.
